Facebook is still the biggest social network in the world and, in countries like Nepal, the main way many customers find local businesses. But posting at the right time every day is hard when you’re running a business. The answer is to schedule your posts.
This guide shows how to schedule Facebook posts step by step, the limits of Facebook’s own tools, how to schedule to several networks at once, and a few tips to keep your Page active without living on it.
Can you schedule Facebook posts?
Yes, if you’re posting to a Facebook Page. You can schedule Page posts for free using Meta Business Suite on desktop or the Meta Business Suite mobile app, or with a social media scheduler.
Two things to know:
- Personal profiles can’t schedule posts natively. Scheduling is a Page feature.
- Creator Studio no longer exists. Meta retired it in 2023, and scheduling now lives in Meta Business Suite.
Method 1: Schedule Facebook posts in Meta Business Suite
- Go to business.facebook.com and choose your Page.
- Click Create post (or open the Planner and choose a day).
- Select your Facebook Page, and Instagram too if you want to share there.
- Add your text, photos or video, and a link if needed.
- Open Scheduling options and turn on Set date and time.
- Pick the date and time, then click Schedule.
Your scheduled posts appear in the Planner and under Posts and reels, where you can edit, reschedule or delete them.
Good to know:
- You need to schedule at least around 20 minutes ahead.
- Many Page owners report a maximum window of roughly one month ahead in 2026, though older Meta documentation mentioned longer. Check what your Page allows.
- You can schedule Reels from Business Suite too, and share a post to your connected Instagram account at the same time.
Method 2: Schedule from your phone
- Open the Meta Business Suite app.
- Tap Create and choose Post or Reel.
- Write your post and add media.
- Tap Next, then Scheduling options.
- Choose the date and time and tap Schedule.
Method 3: Use a social media scheduler
If Facebook is one of several platforms, or you manage Pages for clients, a scheduler saves the most time. In GoBrandIt:
See every step of the composer, from picking accounts to the live preview, in how to post to multiple social media platforms at once.
- Connect your Facebook Page (and Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and so on).
- Write your post in the composer and select your Page plus any other accounts.
- Tailor the Facebook version: a longer caption, a link, a different image.
- Schedule it for a time or add it to your queue.
- Send it for approval first if a manager or client needs to sign off.
You get one content calendar for every network, which Meta Business Suite can’t do for TikTok, LinkedIn or YouTube.
How to schedule Facebook posts: Business Suite vs a scheduler
| Meta Business Suite | Social media scheduler | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | Free plans available |
| Networks | Facebook and Instagram | 10+ networks |
| Scheduling window | Roughly a month for Page posts | Depends on the tool, often longer |
| Bulk scheduling | Limited | CSV bulk upload in many tools |
| Team approvals | Basic | Built-in review and approve |
| Client workspaces | Business portfolios | Separate workspaces |
Can you schedule posts in Facebook Groups?
Group admins can schedule posts inside a Group from the Group’s post composer, where available, by choosing the schedule option before posting. Group scheduling is handled by Facebook itself, and many third-party tools can’t post to Groups because of API limits.
When to schedule Facebook posts
Sprout Social’s 2026 data points to Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 12 pm to 8 pm local time, as the strongest window for Facebook engagement. Use it as a starting point:
- Check Insights in Meta Business Suite to see when your audience is online.
- Test two or three time slots for a month.
- Keep the slots that get the best reach and engagement.

Tips for scheduled Facebook posts
- Use native video and photos. They usually get more reach than plain links.
- Put links in the post, not just in comments, when the click matters, and test what works for your Page.
- Ask a question to encourage comments, then reply when people answer.
- Keep offers clear. Price, dates, how to order.
- Plan around events. Facebook is strong for events, local promotions and community posts.
- Check comments after posts go live. Scheduled doesn’t mean unattended.

Frequently asked questions
Can I schedule a Facebook post on my personal profile?
No. Native scheduling is only available for Facebook Pages, not personal profiles.
How far in advance can I schedule a Facebook post?
In Meta Business Suite, many Pages can schedule posts roughly a month ahead in 2026. Third-party schedulers often let you plan further out.
Is scheduling Facebook posts free?
Yes. Meta Business Suite is free. GoBrandIt also has a Free plan with 3 social accounts and 15 scheduled posts.
Do scheduled Facebook posts get less reach?
There’s no good evidence of that. Reach depends mostly on the content and how people engage with it.
