Mastodon posting without the fiddly bits.
Your server, whichever it is
Type your server's address and approve GoBrandIt there. mastodon.social, a small community server or one you run yourself all connect the same way.
Threads with "Add Post"
Write a run of connected posts and schedule them as one thread. Good for event write-ups, recipes and how-tos.
The limit your server sets
We read the character limit from your server (500 on most) and count down as you type, separately from your other networks.
Sensitive media and alt text
Tick "Mark media as sensitive" to put images behind a warning. Add alt text yourself or with "Write with AI".
Replies in one inbox
We check your Mastodon notifications every 15 minutes and drop them into the GoBrandIt inbox, where you can reply.

How to connect
Connect Mastodon without an API key.
A lot of tools make you create an app on your server and paste tokens around. We don't. You tell GoBrandIt your server, approve it there, and GoBrandIt registers itself with your server automatically.

Open Social Accounts
In GoBrandIt, go to Social Accounts and click the "Add account" tile.

Choose "Mastodon"
Under "Enter your Mastodon server", type your server's address and click "Next".

Approve on your server
Your own server's authorize page opens. Sign in if it asks, approve GoBrandIt, and you land back in GoBrandIt connected.

Schedule your first post
Open the composer, select the Mastodon account, write a post or a thread, and pick a time.

The limit comes from your server, so a server that allows longer posts gets longer posts. The counter shows what's left.

A few Mastodon details worth knowing.
No content warnings yet
GoBrandIt doesn't add content-warning (CW) text or change a post's visibility. If a post needs a CW, publish that one from Mastodon directly.
Limits follow your server
There's no fixed number baked in. If your server allows 1,000 characters, so does the counter for that account.
Replies arrive in batches
Notifications are checked every 15 minutes, so a new reply can take a few minutes to show up in the inbox.

Can I schedule Mastodon posts?
Yes. Connect your account, write the post, and pick a time, a suggested best time or your queue. GoBrandIt publishes it to your server on schedule.
Do I need an API key or access token for Mastodon?
No. You enter your server's address and approve GoBrandIt on that server. GoBrandIt registers itself with your server automatically, so there's nothing to copy or paste.
Does GoBrandIt work with my Mastodon server?
You can type any server address under "Enter your Mastodon server", not just mastodon.social. The character limit is read from whichever server you connect.
Can I schedule a Mastodon thread?
Yes. Use "Add Post" in the composer to add replies under your first post, then schedule the whole thread in one go.
Can I add a content warning to a Mastodon post?
Not yet. You can tick "Mark media as sensitive" to hide images behind a warning, but GoBrandIt doesn't set CW text or visibility. For posts that need a CW, post from Mastodon itself.
