Free TikTok Scheduler for Creators: Native Tool vs 4 Free Apps

Want a free TikTok scheduler today? You have two routes. TikTok's own Video Scheduler works from a desktop browser and costs nothing. A free third-party tool does the same job and also schedules to Instagram, YouTube and your other accounts from one calendar. Pick the first if TikTok is your only channel. Pick the second if you cross-post your videos.

For a free TikTok video scheduling tool for creators who post elsewhere too, our shortlist is Publer (most free posts), Buffer (simplest), Metricool (best free analytics) and GoBrandIt (all TikTok settings in the composer, plus AI captions). The table below has the limits, taken from each tool's own site on 13 October 2026.

Then we walk through scheduling a video step by step, and the privacy, Duet, Stitch and disclosure settings that trip people up.

The short version

TikTok-only? Use TikTok's free Video Scheduler on desktop.

Cross-posting? A free tool like Publer, Buffer, Metricool or GoBrandIt keeps one calendar.

Third-party tools must ask you to pick privacy, Duet and Stitch for every video. That's TikTok's rule.

Videos that need trending sounds or polls still have to be finished in the TikTok app.

Queued limits refill as videos go live. If you post three TikToks a week and schedule one week ahead, 10 queued posts is plenty.

TikTok's native scheduler: free, built for desktop

TikTok's own Video Scheduler announcement explains the basics. You log in at tiktok.com in a desktop browser, click the upload icon, add your video, caption, cover and permissions, turn on the schedule toggle, and choose a date and time. The article gives a window of 15 minutes to 10 days ahead and says desktop scheduling needs a Business Account. TikTok updates its tools often, so check the window shown in your own upload screen.

Two catches. You can't edit a scheduled video, its caption or its time: you delete it and upload again. And it only does TikTok, so if the same clip is going to Reels and Shorts, you're scheduling it three times.

Good: free, official, full access to TikTok's own posting options.

Catch: documented for desktop, short window, no editing after scheduling, TikTok only.

Four free TikTok schedulers that also post elsewhere

Publer: most free posts

Publer Free covers 3 accounts with up to 10 scheduled posts each at a time. Its help center notes that Duet and Stitch have to be turned on in your TikTok account before you can enable them in Publer, and that private TikTok accounts won't see the "Everyone" privacy option. On Free, published posts are removed from Publer after 24 hours.

Buffer: simplest to learn

Buffer Free gives you 3 channels and 10 scheduled posts per channel. Videos can publish automatically or as a phone reminder. Buffer's help center says it has no API access to TikTok's audio library or polls, so videos that need those go out as reminders you finish in the app. Its pricing page lists automatic publishing for TikTok business profiles.

Metricool: best free analytics

Metricool Free covers 1 brand, with one connected account per network including TikTok, up to 20 posts a month and 30 days of analytics. It's a good fit if you want to see what's working without paying, but 20 posts a month is tight across several networks.

GoBrandIt: every TikTok setting in one composer

GoBrandIt Free covers 3 accounts and 15 scheduled posts. For TikTok, the composer has privacy, comments, Duet, Stitch and content disclosure built in, so you set them per video next to the caption. One post can carry a separate version for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, and "Adapt with AI" rewrites the caption for each in your Brand Voice. See our TikTok integration page for the full list.

How to schedule a TikTok video with a free tool

Here's the flow in GoBrandIt. Publer, Buffer and Metricool follow a similar order.

1. Sign up for the Free plan and connect your TikTok account.

2. Open the composer, select TikTok, and upload your finished video. Add any music before uploading, since API tools can't add TikTok sounds.

3. Write the caption. Keep the hook in the first line and add a few relevant hashtags.

4. Pick a privacy level from the options TikTok allows for your account. There's no default; you have to choose.

5. Tick comments, Duet and Stitch if you want them. They start unticked.

6. Turn on content disclosure if the video promotes your own business or a paid partner.

7. Check the preview, then choose Schedule, Post now or Add to Queue.

Privacy, Duet, Stitch and disclosure: TikTok's rules for schedulers

If you've wondered why every scheduler makes you pick privacy again for each video, it's not laziness. TikTok's content sharing guidelines for apps that post on your behalf set the rules:

Privacy: you must choose it from a list each time, with no default value.

Comments, Duet, Stitch: none can be ticked by default. If you've turned one off in the TikTok app, it appears greyed out.

Content disclosure: off by default. Turn it on and pick "Your brand" (labelled Promotional content) or "Branded content" (labelled Paid partnership).

Branded content can't be private. It has to be public or friends only.

Music Usage Confirmation: by posting, you agree to it, and tools must show that notice.

Posting cap: TikTok says creator accounts posting through apps are typically capped around 15 posts a day.

Tip

Getting a "privacy" error when scheduling to several networks at once? Open the TikTok version of the post and set privacy there. It's required for every video.

What a free TikTok scheduler can't do for you

Scheduling saves the "post it now" scramble. It doesn't replace the parts of TikTok that happen inside the app. Plan for these:

Trending sounds and in-app effects. Third-party tools can't add them. Bake audio into the video before you upload, or send the post as a reminder and finish it in TikTok.

Polls and interactive stickers. Same story: Buffer's help center lists polls among the things it can't publish automatically.

Replying to comments. Comments still need a person. Be around when your scheduled post goes live, or check back soon after.

Fixing a mistake after the fact. In TikTok's own scheduler you can't edit a queued video. Check captions and covers before you hit schedule.

The practical split for most creators: schedule finished, evergreen videos like tutorials, behind-the-scenes clips and product demos, and post trend-led videos live. If the same clip is heading to Reels and Shorts too, our guide on posting to multiple social media platforms shows how to adjust each caption without starting over.

Which free TikTok video scheduling tool for creators should you pick?

Our honest recommendations:

TikTok only, posting a few times a week: TikTok's own desktop scheduler. Nothing to sign up for.

You cross-post to Reels and Shorts and want the most free posts: Publer.

You want the simplest interface: Buffer.

Analytics matter more than volume: Metricool.

You want TikTok settings, AI captions and a design tool in one place: GoBrandIt. A Kathmandu creator cross-posting to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube keeps one calendar instead of three.

Whichever you choose, schedule the videos that are finished and keep trend-based clips for the moment. A trend you schedule for Friday may be gone by Thursday. If you post to several networks, our guide to the best time to post on social media helps you set sensible slots.

Schedule your next TikTok in two minutes

Connect TikTok to GoBrandIt Free, set privacy, Duet and Stitch per video, and queue the week. No card needed.

Frequently asked questions

Can you schedule TikTok videos for free?

Yes. TikTok's own Video Scheduler is free on desktop, and Publer, Buffer, Metricool and GoBrandIt all have free plans that include TikTok.

Can I schedule TikToks from my phone?

TikTok documents its Video Scheduler for desktop browsers. Third-party tools with mobile apps, like Buffer or GoBrandIt's Android app, let you plan from your phone.

Can I edit a scheduled TikTok?

Not in TikTok's native scheduler. You delete the scheduled video and upload it again with the changes.

Why can't I add trending sounds through a scheduler?

Third-party tools don't get access to TikTok's sound library; Buffer's help center says so plainly. Add audio before uploading, or use a reminder and finish the post in the TikTok app.

Why does my scheduler ask for privacy settings every time?

TikTok requires apps to make you choose privacy for each video, with no default. Comments, Duet and Stitch also start unticked.
